Biography & Career
A graduate of the Gnesins’ Russian Academy of Music (class of Professor Dmitry Lukyanov).
2003 – today concertmaster at the at the Russian State Academic Symphony Orchestra “Evgeny Svetlanov”
1999 - 2003 percussionist at the Symphonic orchestra “Molodaya Rossiya” conducted by Mark Gorenstein.
1998 - 1999 percussionist at the Symphonic orchestra of Russia under the conduct of the outstanding woman conductor Veronika Dudarova - “the Russian talents’ forge”.
1996 – 1998 soloist and concertmaster of the percussion group at the Russian Philharmonic under the conduct of A.A.Vedernikov.
During his artistic career Alexander participated in multiple musical art projects, festivals and competitions. He fruitfully worked with many famous artists and conductors: Mstislav Rostropovich, Seiji Ozawa, Yevgeny Svetlanov, Kurt Masur, Yuri Bashmet, Alexander A. Vedernikov, Viktor Tretyakov, Sergey Stadler, Natalia Gutman, Maxim Shostakovich, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, Eliso Virsaladze, Denis Matsuev, Perry So and many others.
2000 – today Alexander Bagirov worked as a teacher of percussion instruments at several music schools in Moscow: Muradeli school no.11, Beethoven school no.10, Ledov school no.15., Stravinsky Arts School.
